The HCCC Three Step Program
There will be times we need to talk to your providers, your insurance carrier, etc. In order to accomplish this, we will need a signed HIPAA compliance authorization from you. Our goal, once you grant us written permission, is to open communication with all parties involved. This is done at our first meeting if it becomes clear more work is going to be needed. You will know it.
HCCC Step 1 Lights Document Preparation
We review your claims, organize them and create a spreadsheet of data showing what the charges are, the dates of service, the amounts, what appears to be covered and what is covered, how much was paid and what you owe.
HCCC Step 2 Camera Narrative Analysis
HCCC prepares an analysis of the above and records it on an audio CD. (Written reports are available on request (Additional billing time involved). The narrative report details the concerns and also educates the client as to what to do to take action. You are adequately prepared with critical information, should you feel confident to personally tackle the problems you have been having.
HCCC Step 3 Action Communication & Case Preparation
Should it become clear that your situation may require an attorney or that an attorney should review the matter, then we will perform the following.
1. We call your insurer to check status on charges/claims
a. Delays due to missing or incomplete information
b. Pre-existing conditions
2. We talk to your providers
a. Verify all information is correct
b. Verify charges were properly submitted
c. Verify payments received by carrier and you.
d. Verify client is not in danger of being sent to collection
3. Follow up with client as needed throughout this process
a. Status
b. Problems
c. Resolution
i. Matter closed
ii. Legal counsel needed
This is a time consuming process and you need to be patient. We understand that it is frustrating and for that we apologize in advance. However, there is good news.
Your providers will appreciate talking to us because they know we understand the system. They also know we are working to get them paid.
Your insurance carrier will tell you that they really could care less who they talk to, but that is not true. They want HCCC to be out of the loop for one reason. They would rather talk to you because they know you will end up being more confused when you hang up than before you called.
As you can see from the HCCC Three Step program, you know at all times where you are in the process.
In HCCC Step 3, as previously indicated, we may be spending a great deal of billable time but there are three clear outcomes.
1. Your stress levels will be greatly reduced.
2. Your claims issues will be well-documented.
3. You will have a detailed and complete package including a written narrative.
Should you need legal counsel, you will find that the cost an HCCC Report is far less expensive and a more efficient use of your money than paying a law firm to do this.
Your attorney can easily review an HCCC Report in far less time than it would take for you to explain all the problems you are having. Further, your attorney will now quickly be able to determine if there is a reason for you to move forward with legal actions.
